Cattle Ranch for Sale

Just a few years ago it was harder to sell a cattle ranch than it was to  find a nice bull elk to shoot. Not any more!  Now cattle ranches are being sold with out ever going on the market.  A rancher decides to retire calls a neighbor and a sale is made over the phone.  Many cattle ranches are being purchased by non-rancher.  The allure of a cattle ranch and the romance of living on one has hit many a rich man and resulted in a cattle ranch being purchased by "Old Money" for a get away in Montana.  Turner, DuPont, Fonda are three new Montana ranchers that come to mind immediately and some great Montana cattle ranches are now owned by the new comer to Montana.

The big game hunting is still great though and Big Horn Sheep, Moose, Elk, Black bear, Antelope, Mule deer and Whitetail are hunted each year most by just buying a license over the counter. The best kept secret of hunting in Montana is the bird hunting though! Blue Grouse, Sharp-tail Grouse and Sage Grouse are all abundant. Hungarian Partridge and Ringneck Pheasant are also plentiful.
